Director Group M&A (m/f/d)

We are now in phase two of our growth and need to continue to increase scale and improve scalability as we enter additional markets.


  • Lead the strategic development of the M&A unit for the next big step of growth in revenue and geographic spread


  • You will lead the M&A process through the identification, selection and transaction closing with internal and external stakeholders, including the due diligence process  

  • You will support decisions by relevant stakeholders in senior management through your financial understanding and analysis 

  • You will support the Business Units who are beneficiaries of the transaction by developing the strategic, operational and financial logic (incl business model) of respective M&A transactions and distribute information to relevant stakeholders across the group 

  • You will structure the optimal financing mix between debt & equity 

  • You will support the Group CFO to raise debt to assist the financing of the transaction (where relevant) 

  • You will support the Business Units who are beneficiaries of the transaction to identify the financial synergies. 

  • You will structure and negotiate the transaction in relation to all commercially relevant elements

  • You will conduct market analysis and identify potential targets

Qualifications & Skills
  • At least 4 years of previous experience in one or more of the following are required: Investment Banking, Corporate Development, Strategy Consulting, Corporate Finance, Buy-Side Investing 

  • Experience in structuring transaction to leverage the EBITDA of the acquired target 

  • Full working proficiency in English and German

  • Ability to travel as needed to perform the role 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

  • Hands-on self-starter who takes initiative in implementing goals and effectively handles concurrent demands with a small team of two people (second person to be hired upon arrival) 

  • Knowledge of insurance brokerage market is a plus (i.e. previous experience in M&A at large scale broker companies like Willis, Aon, Marsh)
